Thriving with Flourish Massage & Bodywork
Kristin Worley embodies the term local. Born and raised in Cincinnati, six years ago she embraced her entrepreneurial spirit and opened Flourish Massage & Bodywork in Northern Kentucky. In the beginning it was just Worley and one massage room. Today, her team of seven licensed massage therapists serve a plethora of happy clients from the tri-state area.
Despite her deep local roots, Worley confesses it was the years she spent away from Cincinnati that forged her career path toward providing holistic health solutions. In the years she spent in Colorado, Worley developed an interest in natural health approaches and later grounded her studies and formal training in Vancouver, Washington. It was her time in Oregon that she focused on spa services, essential oils and massage. She explains, “I knew there was a need in the tri-state area for the specialized wellness techniques I learned in the Pacific Northwest.” She continues, “It’s my honor to share that knowledge with my therapist team and my Flourish clients.”
About the ever-evolving massage business landscape, Worley says many people still consider massage a luxurious indulgence. “Fortunately, a growing population is recognizing the role and value of massage and bodywork in holistic healthcare.” She adds, “With this improved understanding about its preventative powers, people are relying on massage for more than reactive pain management.” With regularity, Worley says massage can create homestatic space for our bodies to create natural health and healing. What clients say they appreciate most about the services of Flourish is the confidence Flourish provides.
“We frequently hear from clients that they rely on us to effectively help them solve their muscle related challenges. It warms my heart because clients sense their massage therapists truly care about their concerns. They are confident we have the skills to help them get to a better place.” Worley says that provides the therapist team a great sense of achievement for having helped make clients’ lives better.
The therapists especially enjoy extending their wealth of holistic healing knowledge outside of the massage room. They educate clients about how to take wellness into their own hands by providing free or low-cost continuing education seminars about a variety of topics.Worley shares that Flourish’s seven therapists truly works as a team.
“When a new client comes to us, we assess their needs and pair them with the therapist whose skill set provides a strong match. It works well because clients benefit from the high probability of quickly achieving their wellness goals.”
All the therapists are adept in basic massage techniques and customize treatments based on client needs. However, each team member also has a focus massage type in which they specialize. Examples of specialty areas include energy balance, prenatal, cranial sacral, lymphatic drainage and reflexology. The more common modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point and myofascial are available through all the therapists. Customized aromatherapy and essential oils are extras that can be added to any treatment. Additionally, Flourish now offers several new wellness modalities such as facials, couples massages and in-home massage.
Located just off Highway 71 in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Flourish is set in a family- oriented and comfortable, home-like atmosphere of a professional medical building. It’s perched atop a hill, away from the bustle of everyday life stresses that is conducive to healing. For those not content to go through live in survival mode, but instead look for ways to optimize their wellness, Flourish Massage & Bodywork helps clients thrive.
